If you’re looking for the perfect location for family portraits, engagement photos, senior pictures, or even just a fun creative shoot, I've created a list of beautiful places I recommend in the Ocala area. Whether you want something outdoorsy, classy, or full of charm, here are some of my favorite local recommendations:

Pruitt Trailhead

Pruitt Trailhead is a beautiful natural location along the Cross Florida Greenway that offers a mix of wooded trails, open grassy areas, and scenic views. Quiet forest paths create a peaceful setting with soft, natural light filtering through the trees. With a variety of backdrops in one area, it’s a great spot for family photos, couples sessions, and anyone who loves a natural Florida landscape.

Downtown Square

Downtown Ocala Square is a great choice if you want a mix of city charm and historic character. The square is surrounded by beautiful architecture, brick walkways, fountains, and large oak trees draped with Spanish moss. With coffee shops, string lights, and colorful storefronts nearby, it creates a fun and lively backdrop that works especially well for engagement sessions, senior photos, and couples who want a more urban feel.

Silver Springs State Park

Silver Springs State Park is one of the most scenic natural locations in the Ocala area. Known for its crystal-clear springs and historic glass-bottom boat tours, the park also offers beautiful wooded trails, river views, and tall cypress trees that create a natural Florida backdrop for photos. The soft filtered light through the trees makes this location especially pretty in the morning or late afternoon.

Sholom Park

For a peaceful and elegant setting, Sholom Park is a beautiful option for portraits. With winding paved paths, towering oak trees, and thoughtfully designed gardens, it offers a calm and timeless backdrop for photos. The park features a mix of open lawns, shaded walkways, and seasonal flowers, making it a versatile spot for family sessions, senior portraits, or engagement photos. Sholom Park spans about 44 acres and includes miles of walking paths surrounded by a wide variety of plants and trees, creating plenty of scenic locations throughout the park.

Appleton Museum

The Appleton Museum of Art offers a unique and elegant setting for portraits. The museum’s grand architecture, stone walkways, and beautifully landscaped grounds create a timeless backdrop for photos. With columns, sculptures, and manicured greenery, this location is perfect for couples or seniors looking for a classic and refined look.

Baseline Trailhead Park

Baseline Trailhead Park provides a natural setting with wooded trails, open grassy areas, and soft filtered light through the trees. The park connects to the Cross Florida Greenway and offers a quiet atmosphere surrounded by nature. It’s a great option for family sessions or couples who love a simple, outdoorsy backdrop without having to travel far from town.

Conclusion

The Ocala area offers a wide variety of beautiful locations for photos, whether you’re looking for peaceful gardens, scenic nature trails, historic architecture, or wide open landscapes. From the natural beauty of local parks and forests to the charm of downtown Ocala, each location provides its own unique backdrop for capturing meaningful moments. No matter the season, there are plenty of spots around Ocala that create timeless and memorable photos.
